Digital Exploration – Pt2

The brief:

The brief to myself was to unleash the shackles (what few I have) and just create something for the sheer hell of it. As I was about to release the new Fully Illustrated site, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to create some art to celebrate it, so the brief to myself was to simply create something that made me smile and could tie into the process of digital creation.

The solution:

I'd been playing around with a few techniques for a while along these lines and wanted to pursue them a little further, so I dedicated a big fat chunk of time to doing just that. I soon came upon this idea and started to flesh it out into the three images you see here. It was really nice to create something like this purely for fun, it made me feel like an artist again :)

FI-Faves...

Metal Drift

This site was ace to work on and after playing the game so much I just had to inject as much of that excitement into the design as possible. So overall this was intended to feel like a high paced, neon filled futuristic sports battle zone.

Silly Little Undead Warrior

Don’t ask, I have no idea. He hee, well, I just got a little caught up in some good issues of ImagineFX, one too many fantasy movies and a couple of great new books, needless to say I thought I’d throw a mix of traditional painting with my usual cartoony style...and got this.
