As far as real world simulators go, the Farming Simulator series must be the most well known, so when Giants Software got in touch I was rather excited about working on the new site! The brief was to streamline their existing site, re-structure the content and give the whole design a fresh, light and attractive look that would freshen up the online experience.
As soon I put pen to paper I knew what look was going to be the perfect fit for this design, a nice bright layout with splashes of greens and touches of nature dotted around. As the games assets were so rich, and I'd been supplied with all the 3D source files, I was able to set, pose and render out my own scenes. This gave me unlimited possibilities for the site design. It was quite an honour to work on this site as even though simulators aren't everyone's staple gaming diet, they are VERY big and have a very dedicated following. And lets be honest, if a real life simulator comes to mind, you think Farming Simulator, its just one of those genre defining titles. I really enjoyed this!
I've been working with Positech Games for some time now, so it was great to be invited to work with them again on the follow up to Democracy 2.
As Microsoft Games Studios were renaming and re-branding their Vancouver based development studio to Black Tusk Studios (to coincide with the development of a brand new Xbox exclusive IP), I was tasked with creating their all new online presence to join the action. Rather exciting!
