Gratuitous Space Battles

The brief:

Well, the brief was ace! It was to literally translate the name of the game into a look for the site, as lets face it, Gratuitous Space Battles is somewhat self explanatory, so the homepage had to kick as much ass as the name! It had to be gratuitous, set in space and portray gratuitous space battles ;)

The solution:

Well, as you most of you know, and those who don't can soon surmise from the pages of Fully Illustrated, I love sci-fi, and especially sci-fi themed games, so this was going to be nothing short of a blast from the second Photoshop was booted up. As usual, I spent a large chunk of time creating the scene you see in the background. This was initially made up with elements from the game, followed by hours of toning, tinting, blending and mixing in lots textures to tie in the whole scene. The page had to feel alive with action. Following on from here I then themed all the content to follow suit and worked on making the main homepage a literal hub for all things GSB related. Great little project!

Accidental Fish

Accidental Fish, what a killer name and project! As we all know, creating characters is what I love most, and when a blooming good brief lands on my desk, giving me some rather lovely creative freedom, I enjoy it all the more!

Find A Vine

This was a really nice brief, something quite different from my usual stuff. This time it was for a new online service dedicated to finding the perfect wine. My task was to create a brand that was both sophisticated and playful, quite a challenge!
