Pearl Harbor Trilogy – Wii
The brief for this project was simple and complex in one pass, it had to show the beautiful plane models in all their glory, make the game feel approachable and fun (as it’s a Wii title) and also had to function as a usable blog, allowing Legendo to update it with all the latest news and info on regular basis. Anyone who knows me knows I have a geeky obsession for WW2 aircraft, so this project was a literal dream come true! It combined my two loves, games and fighter planes, oh yes!
Man this was just a dream come true, WW2 fighter planes and games, I mean seriously, its perfect. It’s like if someone said to me, ‘Mike, tell me your ideal brief’ the guys at Legendo already knew it and knocked on my door with it in their hands! They also sent over the awesome 3D files too, allowing me UNLIMITED flexibility with the design. My goal was to make the aircraft feel as though they were in a dog fight and tearing out of the screen, so having the Max files to play with allowed me to achieve this soooo quickly. Ok I’m babbling I know, but I just loved this site!!
If anyone else out there is working on ANYTHING fighter aircraft based (WW2 or modern, and not just within the games industry either) please give me a shout, I love all things related to military aircraft...yes...I’m a full on geek ;)
Happy viking...angry viking...grrrrr. This was one of the many personal illustrations that I created back when I was managing at Lightmaker and was in dire need of getting back to my sketchpad. He hee, it was probably a reflection of how I felt at the time ;)
Yey, I was overjoyed to find out that Velociraptor Safari was going to be brought to the consoles, so when the guys at Blurst enquired about the site, I was rather excited!
